The King of Bhutan, a remote Himalayan country between India and China, attracted much media attention as he married a commoner, Jetsun Pema on October 13, 2011. The Dragon King, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, at age 30, married Jetsun Pema, the daughter of an airline pilot, who at 21 is now the Queen of Bhutan. The King announced his engagement in a parliament session on May 20, 2011.
